Surrender To Win

In a society that tells us to push against the grain, surrender to win may seem foreign. We’ve been taught to go after what we want, which is beautiful but where do we find balance in action and letting go?
I played soccer for 8 years. My mom was my coach for my first 4 years. I remember her pushing me to go after the ball, race down the field to defend and never give up. These were crucial lessons I learned early in life. I’ve been a go-getter most of my life and have found it challenging to slow down.
Our world is filled with an urgency culture, where we check off our to-do list and find gratification and self-worth in productivity. But when do we stop? If we’re constantly running around, where is there time to feel? Being productive is great and part of human nature but if we’re always moving onto the next best thing, are we ever satisfied?
When things don’t go as planned, do we continue to fight or let go? The idea – let go or be dragged hits home. Also, what we resist, persists.
How do we surrender to win? We act towards our goals and let go of the outcome. For me, it’s trusting in something greater than myself. It’s honoring my truth and expressing my needs even if that means the receiver doesn’t agree. That’s hard and can be uncomfortable. When I slow down, I connect with my inner guide which gives me the clarity needed to take the next step. This process is like building a muscle. I can’t go to the gym and expect to be fit over night. The same applies to life. When I continue to slow down and surrender to life, I become more aligned with my truth and destiny. It’s a daily choice.
Surrender is slowing down. Surrender is clarity. Surrender is aligning yourself with your soul’s purpose. Surrender is freedom. Surrender is less pushing against the grain and moving with the flow of life.
